ISLAMABAD (Big Digit) Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, met with Members of the National Assembly, Anjum Aqeel Khan and Malik Abrar Ahmed, at the CDA Headquarters on Thursday.

ISLAMABAD: (PR: Dated November 20, 2025)(Big Digit): Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, met with Members of the National Assembly, Anjum Aqeel Khan and Malik Abrar Ahmed, at the CDA Headquarters on Thursday. The meeting involved a detailed discussion on resolving civic issues in Islamabad and improving municipal facilities. The meeting was attended by CDA Board Member Administration Talat Mehmood Gondal, Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon along with other senior officers.

The Members of the National Assembly were informed about the measures being taken to improve roads, parks, sanitation, water supply, and other facilities, keeping in view the growing urban needs of Islamabad. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that they are working on new models and options for the upgradation of civic facilities and service delivery.

Member of the National Assembly, Anjum Aqeel Khan, said that providing relief to citizens and ensuring the provision of the best facilities is their top priority.

Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that the solid waste management system is being transformed into a modern, world-class standard through a new Solid Waste Management system. He said the new system will ensure effective and integrated solid waste management services across both urban and rural Islamabad.

During the meeting, it was informed that the Solid Waste Management system has been divided into two packages to ensure better service delivery throughout Islamabad. Similarly, in light of growing urban and governance needs, the private sector is being included in solid waste management, environment and community services.

Member of the National Assembly, Malik Abrar Ahmed, said that the involvement of the private sector will bring transparency, timeliness, and the use of modern technology to improve service delivery. Member of the National Assembly, Anjum Aqeel Khan, said that adopting contemporary service delivery standards is crucial to meet the growing urban needs.

Chairman CDA assured that the implementation of the modern Solid Waste Management system will in no way affect the jobs of current employees. The meeting concluded with an agreement to device a comprehensive plan to provide uniform, high-quality facilities and services across all sectors of the city, urban and rural areas.
