Karachi (Big Digit)(Report: Pirbux Noonari)Karachi Sindh’s Advisor to the Chief Minister on Inter-Provincial Coordination and Cooperative Department, Ehsan ur Rehman Mazari, has congratulated Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and the Pakistan Peoples Party leadership on the suspension of the controversial canal project. The Chief Minister received a warm welcome at the airport, where Mazari presented him with a traditional Ajrak in appreciation.

On the occasion, Mazari stated that CM Murad Ali Shah had long maintained that no canals would be built without provincial consent; a stance now validated. He applauded Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for powerfully representing the concerns of Sindh’s people at the Council of Common Interests (CCI) meeting and credited him for the project’s cancellation.

“Sindhu River belongs to the people of Sindh, and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has proved that,” Mazari said. He emphasized that while other political parties used the issue for political gain, the PPP took decisive action to protect the people’s rights.

Declaring the decision a historic milestone, Mazari said that history would remember this moment as one of the PPP’s significant victories. He also thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the federal government for understanding the sentiments of Sindh’s people and supporting the suspension of the project.
