ISLAMABAD (Big Digit) Chief of Defense Forces and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir has said that the majority of the organizations of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) that infiltrate Pakistan are Afghans. 70 percent of the forces coming to Pakistan from TTP are Afghans.
Field Marshal Asim Munir said this while addressing the National Ulema Conference held in Islamabad on December 10.
He said that Pakistan has repeatedly urged Kabul to prevent Afghan soil from being used for terrorism in Pakistan, however, the Afghan government has been denying these allegations.
Addressing the conference, the Chief of Defense Forces raised the question that is Afghanistan not shedding the blood of our Pakistani children? He reminded that the Afghan Taliban were clearly told to choose between Pakistan and TTP.
Referring to the four-day standoff with India in May, Field Marshal Asim Munir said that during this time, Pakistan’s counter-offensive Operation Banyan Marsus provided unseen support to the armed forces. We felt it ourselves.
He said that in the early hours of May 7, India launched attacks on various areas of Pakistan, resulting in the worst tension between the two countries in decades. During the four-day clash, both sides used warplanes, missiles, artillery and drones, in which dozens of people were killed. Later, a ceasefire was agreed between the parties.
The tension arose after the attack on tourists in Pahalgam area of occupied Kashmir on April 22, in which 26 people were killed. India accused Pakistan without evidence, which Pakistan rejected, calling the Indian position fabricated and unreliable through the Foreign Office.
Field Marshal Asim Munir also said that there are 57 Islamic countries in the world and among them, Allah Almighty has given us the honor of being the guardians of the Two Holy Mosques.
He pointed out the similarities between Pakistan and the Islamic state established in Saudi Arabia 1400 years ago, saying that both were established for the same purpose, both were established in the same month of Ramadan and both were founded on the element of migration.
The Chief of Defence Forces further said that in an Islamic state, no one except the state can order jihad.
He said that no one has the authority to issue a fatwa for jihad without the order, permission and consent of those in authority.
Field Marshal Asim Munir also quoted several verses of the Holy Quran during his speech.
