Changing Media Dynamics: Radio Interview of Mr. Amjad Ali, Director Marketing, Jang Media Group

On Tuesday, 30^th May, 2023, Mr. Syed Amjad Ali, Director Marketing, Jang Media Group, was invited to a radio program ‘Dialogue with Experts’ hosted by Mr. Zaildar Ahsan Shah on channel FM 101 Radio Pakistan.

The topic of discussion was ‘Changing Media Dynamics’ in which Mr. Amjad Ali talked about the important role of media in the society. He said that, with the advancement of technology Media Marketing has become backbone of every society. He told about his career and his journey in media industry and journalism. The dynamics of media industry have changed; especially electronic and social media is becoming dominant day to day. There is a vast usage of internet in this era and this also is increasing risks to our networks such as misinformation, disinformation, sabotage, hacking, etc. and many other tools to attack personal information of the users. The purpose may be political or personal in order to harm anyone’s identity. There is a great impact of media on the minds of people in the society.

During the interview, role of PEMRA was also discussed as it regulates media channels in our country. He stated that, as a regulating authority PEMRA takes actions against these risks very effectively. It monitors the programs and prevents any kind of negative information to spread in the society. Then he told that PTA also regulates the activities on mobile internet and applications. He also said that, information technology needs much advancement in our country in order to cope up with the new trends in the media market. Our Government should adopt policies regarding mass media and electronic media that should be regulated by proper check and balance.

Mr. Amjad Ali also talked about the initiative taken by Jung Group “Dream Home Expo” in which different institutions participate from all over the country. This Expo will be held from 23rd to 25th June at Pak-China friendship Center at Islamabad.

Mr. Zaildar Ahsan Shah thanked Mr. Amjad Ali for enlightening the audience about media and his efforts in making his media house stronger at every level. He said that our media industry will flourish in near future among other countries of the world.
