ISLAMABAD (Big Digit) Kashmiris living on both sides of the Line of Control and around the world will celebrate Kashmir Exploitation Day on August 5, 2025. It should be remembered that on August 5, 2019, the Modi-led Hindutva government revoked Articles 370 and 35-A, which had given special status to the internationally recognized disputed territory and illegally imposed a brutal military and police siege. Pakistan has always supported the Kashmiris politically, diplomatically and morally. Despite all the oppression, torture and arrests and state terrorism, India could not succeed in its nefarious objectives, could not demoralize the Kashmiris. Their struggle could not be stopped. It cannot be denied that the children, the elderly, women and every youth of the occupied valley are determined to achieve freedom. Protests and demonstrations will be held on August 5. In addition, a complete shutter-down strike and anti-India gatherings will be held on both sides of the Line of Control, including in occupied Srinagar and its suburbs, on the call of the All-Party Hurriyat Conference and other organizations. By abolishing the special status of Kashmir, India not only violated its own constitution, but also threw half a dozen Security Council resolutions into the dustbin, in which Kashmir was declared disputed and a free, fair and impartial plebiscite was proposed to resolve this dispute so that the Kashmiri people could decide in a referendum to be held under the supervision of the UNO whether they prefer to remain with India or vote in favor of joining Pakistan. India considers itself to have closed the chapter on Security Council plebiscite resolutions.
The brutal act of August 5 has turned Kashmir into a torture chamber. This brutal act of India is also a violation of the United Nations Universal Charter of Fundamental Rights. In which every citizen is given freedom of movement, freedom of expression, freedom of assembly, freedom to perform religious worship and freedom to maintain contact with the outside world. India massacred all these civil rights with a single blow on August 5. India is ruled by a fascist government, whose ideology is that of the RSS terrorist organization. Hitler and Mussolini are heroes in front of the founders of RSS, whose pages of history are filled with examples of oppression and tyranny. The Prime Minister of the Indian BJP government, Narendra Modi, is known as a “bloodthirsty scoundrel”. He was also called the Butcher of Gujarat where he burned thousands of Muslims alive in a train. In Narendra Modi’s fascist ideology, the Constitution also has no status or value. On August 5, 2019, he violated the Constitution of India in broad daylight and usurped Kashmir. For this, he abrogated Articles 370 and 35A of the Constitution, flouting the Constitution created by India’s own historical Muslim founders like Nehru and Gandhi, and The special status was abolished, which even the British government could not abolish. On August 5, 2019, at that time, a cunning and cunning politician like Modi was the Prime Minister in India, and in Pakistan, there was a government of Imran Khan, who was unfamiliar with the basics of politics and diplomacy. He only made empty statements about India’s evil actions, but did not take any concrete steps to stop India from usurping Kashmir. On the contrary, he rubbed salt in the wounds of the Kashmiris and granted India the facility of the Kartarpur corridor. The irony is that Imran Khan kept raising attractive slogans of true freedom for the people of Pakistan inside and outside the country, but left the brutal wolves of India at the mercy of the bloodshed of the Kashmiris.Human rights violations continue unabated in occupied Kashmir. Occupied Kashmir is the only region on the planet where more than 800,000 Indian occupying forces are deployed in just a few thousand square miles of land. India is using all its resources and tactics to continue its forcible and illegal military rule over the land of Kashmir. Remember that August 5, 2019, is the most tragic, painful and darkest day in the history of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. General elections were held in India in April 2019. In these general elections, the RSS-backed BJP party won and Narendra Modi returned to power as the Prime Minister. After coming to power, this government took the biggest step of callousness and bigotry and challenged Kashmir’s right to self-determination, killing its people and challenging its autonomy. It had only been four months since the BJP government was formed that they started the heinous process of passing blind laws from the Parliament. On August 5, 2019, the Indian Parliament abolished Article 370. Article 370 gives special status to Kashmir. It gives Kashmir its own constitution and its own flag. With the abolition of Article 370, the special status of Kashmir was abolished and its constitution and flag were also confiscated. The BJP government had also abolished Article 35A through a presidential order. According to Article 35A, a person can be a citizen of Jammu and Kashmir only if he was born here. After the abolition of Article 35A, the process of resettlement of people from other states of India started in Kashmir. As a result, lakhs of people in Jammu and Kashmir lost their jobs in the last 6 years. When it came to oppression upon oppression, India crossed all limits of lawlessness. On August 6, 2019, an act was also passed in the name of Reorganization. This act divided occupied Kashmir into two parts (Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh) and also placed both parts under the administration of the Indian central government and approved the establishment of a legislative assembly for this, which is apparently a powerless legislative assembly.
Thus, one day the statehood of Kashmir was abolished and the next day the right to make decisions on all matters was also taken away from them. This is a story of oppression and lawlessness that does not take the name of ending. After the implementation of black laws, the Indian government also introduced a blacklist in Kashmir. It should be remembered that the minorities of India are also suffering badly in their clutches. They are being deprived of their normal life day by day. It seems that the National Register of Citizenship had even refused to accept them as its own. This register provides citizenship to citizens. To register one’s name in it, it is necessary that the citizen has a legacy document, whoever is unable to provide this document, his citizenship is revoked. India’s National Register of Citizens published its first list on August 31, 2019. In this list, the citizenship of about 1.9 million Bengalis from Assam was revoked and they were denied citizenship. A few months later, the Citizenship Amendment Act was passed on December 11, 2019. After this act, the National Register of Citizens was implemented across India. People’s citizenship was revoked and they were forced to be deported. In November 2019, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act was passed, which expanded the definition of terrorism to include even the smallest crime as terrorism, and then in May 2019, when the Babri Masjid was demolished. About two thousand Muslims were killed in the riots. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), like the RSS, was founded in 1980. The Modi government has been the country’s most corrupt government since independence. People have come to realize that they have been lied to by making promises that they had no intention of fulfilling. This negates the BJP’s claims of nationalism and exposes the misuse of central investigative agencies for political gain. The government of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has witnessed the highest number of hate speeches and crimes against Muslims in Indian history. A Bloomberg report said that since Modi came to power in 2014, there has been a sharp increase in anti-Muslim sentiment among Indians. Of the 255 recorded incidents of hate speeches against Muslims, nearly 80 percent occurred in states ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The Modi government has previously banned Jamaat-e-Islami Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Muslim League, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Democratic Freedom Party, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Dukhtaran Millat and Muslim Conference for playing an important role in the freedom movement. The United Nations has given the right to people to decide their future through the right to self-determination in Article 1 of its charter, but no movement has succeeded through laws alone because this is not possible without the international community. An example of this is the creation of the partition of Sudan and East Timor, while Kashmir is still today. Pakistan will continue to provide strong and steadfast moral, political and diplomatic support until the Kashmiri people achieve their inalienable right to self-determination. Pakistan wants good relations with all its neighbors, including India, but good relations can only be achieved through conflict resolution. There is a question mark on conscience and system. Apart from this, basic rights like education, freedom of expression, and the right to life are impossible for Kashmiris. The Kashmiri people are firmly resolved that they will never allow India’s heinous actions to succeed. The Kashmiri people will continue their struggle for freedom in accordance with the UN resolution until they achieve their goal.
