Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan Visits Islamabad High Court Bar Association

 On  Islamabad The Governor of Punjab, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, paid a significant visit to the Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA), where he was received with great warmth and respect by the legal fraternity. The welcoming delegation was led by President of IHCBA, Mr. Wajid Gillani, alongside Mr. Chaudhary Manzoor Ahmad Jajja Secretary, and Mr. Naseer Kiyani Vice Chairman Islamabad Bar Council. Members of the Islamabad Bar Council including Mr .Qazi Adil Aziz, Mr. Qamar Sabzwari, Mr. Zulfiqar Abbasi, Member Judicial Commission of Pakistan Mr. Naeem Gujjar President District Bar Association ,Mr. Zaildar Ahsan Shah, Chairman International Relations Committee Mr. Raja Shakeel Abbasi, former President District Bar, and Mr. Sardar Najam President Peoples Lawyers Forum Islamabad. Mr. Murtaza Khan Vice Chairman of the International Relations Committee, Mr. Fahad Chaudhary, Mr. Tajammal Hussain Latti, Mr. Chaudhary Yaseen, Mr. Safeer Shah members of International Relations Committee were also present. The whole legal profession joined together to convey a warm welcome to the Governor of Punjab, marking a rare and historic moment of institutional cooperation.

Secretary Chaudhary Manzoor Ahmad Jajja, who served as Master of the Ceremony, opened the event with a dignified welcome to His Excellency Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan on behalf of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association. He emphasized the meaning of the Governor’s presence as a strong reaffirmation of the Bar’s institutional relevance and growing engagement with the state. Secretary Jajja acknowledged the tireless efforts of the current cabinet in addressing pressing legal challenges, fostering institutional transparency, and empowering young lawyers. His thoughtful remarks set the tone for a meaningful and forward-looking exchange centered on shared aspirations for legal reform and cooperation.

 

The ceremony commenced in the Bar Room with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by a soulful Naat. President Wajid Gillani then formally addressed the gathering, offering high praise to Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan for his dynamic leadership. He paid tribute to the Governor’s constitutional and democratic role, calling his visit a proud and symbolic moment for the bar community. The President highlighted the long-standing legacy of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association, which has been a frontline institution since its inception, with lawyers rendering remarkable sacrifices in the pursuit of justice and democracy.

 

Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan expressed gratitude for the heartfelt welcome and praised the Islamabad Bar for its unwavering role in defending the Constitution and standing firm in times of national trials. He underscored the vital role of the Pakistan Peoples Party

(PPP) in strengthening democratic institutions, especially its leadership in the historic 26th Constitutional Amendment, and mentioned the crucial involvement of President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in steering Pakistan towards stability and progressive politics.

 

Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan expressed the entire nation is united for the dignity and sovereignty of Pakistan a hallmark of great nations. Together, the people of Pakistan responded firmly to the enemy’s aggression.”

The nation is proud of Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, and we stand shoulder to shoulder with our brave armed forces. Our military victory over India has elevated Pakistan’s global respect and significantly boosted the stature of the green passport worldwide.” “India must understand what they faced was merely a trailer. Had the full force been unleashed, their very existence would have been erased.” Martyrdom is the desire of every Muslim. This country is a divine blessing, and it is destined to move forward. Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto laid the foundation for Pakistan’s nuclear capability, and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto initiated the missile technology program. We are deeply grateful to countries like China, Turkey, and Azerbaijan for their unwavering support to Pakistan.” President Asif Ali Zardari, during his first term, made 14 visits to China. It was under the PPP government that Gwadar was handed over to China, laying the groundwork for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). “I fully endorse the concerns raised by the President of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association. The 26th Constitutional Amendment was spearheaded by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. I assure you that the concerns of the legal fraternity regarding legislation will be presented to our leadership.” There is always room for improvement. Lawmaking must rise above personal interests. The Pakistan People’s Party, in collaboration with the legal community, has always fought for the supremacy of the Constitution. Our lawyers have rendered unmatched sacrifices for the rule of law.”

 

The Governor further stressed the need for national unity in the current geopolitical context, especially in light of recent aggressive actions by India. He emphasized that issues of national interest, like CPEC and international diplomacy, require collective consensus, not political rivalry. He lauded the legal fraternity for standing high with the Armed Forces and the people of Pakistan, stating that the recent victories in global narratives, especially in the media arena, were led commendably by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who effectively defended Pakistan’s position on international platforms.

 

The Governor particularly appreciated the black coat community, noting their critical contributions to democracy, law, and the protection of constitutional rights. He reaffirmed that PPP has always respected and relied on the legal fraternity, and that the party stands committed to empowering young lawyers and enhancing legal education and facilities.

 

Zaildar Ahsan Shah, on behalf of the cabinet of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association, presented two key proposals to the Honourable Governor, reflecting the collective vision and priorities of the Bar’s leadership.

Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan graciously approved both requests and additionally announced his support for the Bar Library, recognizing the critical need for academic and legal resources for lawyers. His announcements were met with applause and deep appreciation from the community.

 

At the conclusion of the event, a commemorative shield was presented to the Governor by the Bar leadership. The ceremony concluded on a note of optimism and unity.
