ISLAMABAD (Big Digit)  Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has invited all parties to become part of the Pakistan Stability Pact in a ceremony held to mark the 78th Independence Day and victory in the struggle for truth. He said that the time has come for us to move beyond political divisions, personal interests and hollow slogans and adopt a collective mindset for Pakistan. On this great day, I once again invite all political parties, stakeholders, and civil society to become part of the Pakistan Stability Pact. The grand ceremony at the Jinnah Ground in Islamabad was attended by President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with top civil and military leaders. In addition, the ceremony was attended by top military leaders and ambassadors of friendly countries, while a large number of federal ministers, members of parliament and citizens were also present at the ceremony. During the ceremony, the music band consisting of the three armed forces performed a magnificent march past, while the troops of Punjab Rangers and FC Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also performed a march past. In the solemn ceremony, the parade commander, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Umar Awan, presented a parade to President Asif Ali Zardari, who presented the presidential salute to the chief guest. The armed forces of the brotherly Islamic countries of Turkey and Azerbaijan also participated in the Independence Day and Victory of the Battle of Truth ceremony. The armed forces of Turkey and Azerbaijan performed a march past at the ceremony. Addressing the ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that I congratulate you all on the completion of 78 years of Independence Day. Today is not an ordinary day, it has a long history, at every turn of which the sacrifices of our elders and the blood of martyrs are visible everywhere. He said that this was not just a war of independence but a victory of the two-nation theory. I salute all the leaders and workers of the Pakistan Movement whose far-sighted leadership and great struggle changed history. He said that we have named this Independence Day as the Battle of Truth. Recently, India suddenly attacked Pakistan under the guise of a false and self-made accusation. India was proud that it would subdue Pakistan with its war power, but it forgot that wars are not fought only with weapons, but for this, it requires such fearless sons who put their lives in the palm of their hands and jump into the battlefield. In just 4 days, India’s pride was shattered because it faced an army that had brave and capable military leaders like Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Babar and Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf standing behind it, and under their command were those young men who taught India the lesson of history that its future generations will remember till the Day of Judgment. He said that these are the brave young men who fight against the enemy like a leaden wall and their mothers send them off from their homes with this prayer that the son may give his life but never let the freedom, security and glory of the country come under fire. How can anyone defeat such a nation? The Prime Minister said that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is that great son of the nation, who made such a courageous and wise strategy against India’s war madness, which is acknowledged by both friends and enemies. He further said that just as a new independent country was born on August 14, 1947, a new nation came into being on May 10, 2025. The struggle for truth has proven that we have the full capacity and strength to protect the freedom that our elders had achieved by making sacrifices. Our nuclear power is not aggressive in any way, but we have adopted the path of nuclear power to strengthen our defense capability against India’s nuclear power. He said that the success in the struggle for truth also has the hand of our sincere friends, who supported us at the diplomatic level and boosted our morale in difficult times. In this regard, Pakistan is grateful to our trusted friends China, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, UAE, Turkey, Iran and Azerbaijan for their open support for Pakistan’s position at the global level. The Prime Minister said that on this occasion, I also thank US President Donald Trump, who, along with his team, played a positive role in the ceasefire. I hope that Trump will play his role in resolving the Kashmir issue in accordance with the UN resolutions and the demands of justice for lasting peace in the region. While celebrating the victory of the struggle for truth, heartbreaking scenes of the suffering of those who are deprived of freedom come before our eyes, be it the bloodstained streets of Gaza or the massacre of the Kashmir Valley, where the blood of innocent Kashmiris flows day and night and the Kashmir Valley has turned red with their blood. He said that we will not give place to any new sedition in the country. In Pakistan, everyone has the right to protest but not to burn and surround, the right to criticize but not to insult and abuse, the right to politics and not the right to rebel against the state. Pakistan has always stood with its oppressed brothers and sisters with a principled and unwavering stance. The issue of Palestine has become a test of humanity’s conscience today. Pakistan will continue to provide moral, diplomatic and political support to the oppressed until the people of Palestine and Kashmir get their rights. We will continue to raise our voice for the establishment of the state of Palestine and the Kashmiris at international forums.
