Open University is striving to achieve the goals of education according to the need.
Regarding the international conference on the topic of ‘Girls’ Education in Muslim Societies, Challenges and Opportunities’ in Islamabad, she said that promoting girls’ education is the greatest need of the hour. The international conference is a reaffirmation of Pakistan’s commitment to promoting girls’ education. This conference is a reflection of Pakistan’s recognition of its cooperation in education.
The Regional Director Rawalpindi said that the Open University is determined to provide educational facilities to women and girls sitting at home in every corner of the country.
Under the distance learning education system, 72 percent of girls, especially 41.5 percent of girls who are out of school, are being educated.
Mrs. Nasreen Akhtar Mirza has said that Allama Iqbal Open University was established in 1974, with which more than 1 million students have been associated.
The Open University offers students various programs from Matric to PhD through the latest digital systems, digital learning and face-to-face system, along with science education, Matric, ICom, FA General, Matric Dars Nizami, FA Dars Nizami along with Matric, FA, BA courses, but also many certificate courses, diploma courses are also its hallmark.
The Regional Director Rawalpindi said that the education system of Allama Iqbal Open University is connected to its regional network across the country through 54 regional offices in all four provinces, main campus. The aim is to provide educational facilities to the students at the doorstep of their homes.
For girls who drop out of education due to financial constraints, Allama Iqbal Open University not only provides them with certificate courses, open courses at their doorstep but also provides scholarships and fee waivers. The Regional Director Rawalpindi said that 28 percent of institutions in Pakistan are inadequate for girls’ education.
Allama Iqbal Open University, in collaboration with JICA, launched the Girls Power Project, under which girls living in villages successfully completed their education up to matriculation.
Allama Iqbal Open University is playing a prominent role in girls’ education and a network of regions has been established in every corner of the country to improve the quality of education in the country so that it can play its role in national development.
The Rawalpindi Regional Office of Allama Iqbal Open University is one of them, which was established in 1984.
