The Kurram Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Parachinar is the first women’s chamber in the newly merged tribal districts of Pakistan – Kurram, a region that has long been affected by militancy. Under the leadership of Dr. Humera Ambreen, the Kurram Chamber of Commerce and Industry Parachinar is a business leader for tribal women and is creating space for them to emerge as partners in Pakistan’s economy. It empowers women in the traditionally conservative region to start businesses, achieve financial independence and be part of national development. It is a model of inclusive development for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This is a reflection of a new era for Pakistan where women from all regions are part of the journey of prosperity.
